St. Peter Catholic Church offers a wide variety of learning and volunteer programs for adults and children. Become involved!

Adult Education
St. Peter Adult Education provides an opportunity for parishioners and members of the community to participate in Adult Faith Formation and Secular Enrichment offerings. The Adult Faith Formation encompasses the teachings of the Catholic Church based on the Gospels, Catechism of the Catholic Church and other important church documents.  Our Secular Enrichment offerings are selected through input from parishioners and societal trends.

Flyers and bulletin articles are developed as programs are scheduled.  Contact the Office of Religious Education at (937)237-3516 or email jblaul@saintpeterparish.org

C.R.O.S.S. (Christians Reaching Out Spiritually and Socially) Young Adult Ministry CROSS provides opportunities for young adults ages 18 to 28, to strengthen their Christian faith lives through spiritual, service, and social activities.

C.R.O.S.S. is an energetic group of young adults meeting each Thursday evening, at 7:00 p.m. in the Youth/Young Adult Center, to strengthen your faith.  Each meeting, planned by young adults, includes socializing with friends, a lively liturgical discussion, and prayer.  Thursday night group meetings allow you to come closer to the life God invites us to follow.  The group is open to new members and friends.

Through Scripture, prayer, and reflection on the deeper meanings of life, God invites us all to utilize the spirituality of our inner souls to strengthen ourselves in life.

Every other month the CROSS group participates in activities to serve others in the community.  The social events involve taking trips to Kings Island, bowling, dinner out on the town and much more.  CROSS involvement in regional and international events also are planned throughout the year.  For more information contact the Religious Education Office at (37)237-3516 or email jblaul@saintpeterparish.org

Food Pantry

Since October 1996, the St. Peter Food Pantry has helped over 300 needy families in our community. Our mission is to provide food to people during a time of need. We hope to exemplify the compassion of Christ to the people whose lives we touch, remembering to treat each person with dignity and understanding.

The Food Pantry is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for needy families or individuals residing in the 45424 Zip Code area. Families are able to come to the pantry once every other month for as long as needed to receive non-perishable food items enough for up to four days.

To receive food, bring a photo ID, proof of residency and some personal information will be required. The Food Pantry is a non-denominational program.

Library Resources
The St. Peter Parish Library has books and videos to help parishioners on their journeys of faith. Learn why we fast or what the Advent season is to why we pray the Rosary. Our selection can help you understand more about your faith and can help you pass it along to your family and friends.

The library is open each Sunday after the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses located in the church basement. Books and videos can be checked out for two weeks.

On the second Sunday of each month, Story time is available for the children. A book about the theme for the month or a story of Jesus is read. Throughout the year, there are planned events for the children to help encourage them to read about Jesus and their faith.

L.I.F.E. (Living In Faith Experience) Youth Ministry
The mission of the St. Peter youth ministry and the dedicated corps of adult volunteers is to lead youth from their adolescent lives into mature, loving and critically thinking adults who understand, experience, live and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The St. Peter Youth Ministry is a total youth ministry program planned by a youth core team and adults that offers it all -- from awesome retreats to great social events, from service and leadership opportunities to meaningful prayer experiences. Total Youth Ministry also means that all are welcome. So whether you go to Wayne, Carroll, Chaminade-Julienne, Stebbins, or any other high school program, you have a home here.

Meetings combine deep discussion and serious subject matter with laughter and fun. We have the deepest respect for your young person and will take their well being and life very seriously. We seek to enrich the whole person, spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically.

High School students meet every Wednesday night from 7-9 p.m. during the school year and cover three main topics.  Examples of some of our past discussions include Morality, World Religions, Sacraments, Scripture, and Life Issues. We schedule social events each month and are involved in organized service opportunities.

Our ministry cannot survive without the help of the parents. Support us with your prayers and time. Several volunteer opportunities are available.

For Junior High students we offer activity nights that are planned by the high school youth.  These are scheduled on a yearly basis.  For more information contact the Religious Education Office at 237-3516 or email jblaul@saintpeterparish.org

R.C.I.A. - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The R.C.I.A. is a journey of faith:

  • through all those stages of asking and seeking
  • through hearing the Gospel proclaimed, by faithful reflection and prayer on this Word of God
  • through study and discussion about the Catholic experience
  • through doubts and hesitations
  • through discernment of God's call for them as individuals

The R.C.I.A. is a process for welcoming new members into the Roman Catholic Church, for Catholics to gain an adult perspective of their faith and for those who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Church.

RCIA is a community journey that leads to a transformation of mind and spirit. Guided by the Gospel and examples set by Church members, newcomers can find their place into the community of believers. The RCIA is a personal journey in which church members re-examine their own relationship with God and for those who are not Catholic, it can lead to a discovering of Christ in their lives. The RCIA can lead to a more full life in the Catholic Community.
