"Kindergarten Enrichment" is a class that provides care opposite the kindergarten class. Reinforcement of the kindergarten curriculum and individual attention to specific areas are provided. The class offers structured learning, playtime, outside activities and arts and crafts.

Enrichment Staff
The Enrichment Program is supervised by one Coordinator under the direction of the Principal of St. Peter School.

General Safety Policy

1. All staff members are Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid.

2. No child will be left alone unsupervised during indoor or outdoor play.

3. No child will be released to anyone other than the parents or legal guardian unless prior written arrangements and visual verification has been made with the staff members and/or the Coordinator

4. There is immediate access at all times to a working telephone located in the School.

5. No spray aerosols will be used when children are in attendance.

6. All staff are required by law to immediately notify the local public Children Services Board when child abuse or neglect is suspected.

7. Procedures for fire and tornado drills shall be explained and practiced with the children. These procedures shall be posted by the door. Drills shall be conducted throughout the school year on a monthly basis.

Medical Emergencies And Illness
In case of illness, the child will be sent to the nurse’s office until someone can be contacted and the child is picked up. The following students should not be sent to school:

5. Students with head lice or pink eye.

Absence
Call the school before 9 a.m. when your child will be absent.

Discipline
The purpose of discipline is to help a child to control his/her emotions and actions, not to stop him/her from expressing feelings and moods. Above all, a child needs love, patience and understanding. Parents are urged to instill an appreciation of moral values in their child, which will be nurtured in the Program's environment. Respect for self, others and property is stressed each day.

Methods Of Discipline

1. Individual discussion of behavior with the child geared to the child's level of understanding.

2. Redirection to another area if appropriate.

3. "Time Out" -- the child is removed from the group, but not from the room, for a short period of time.

4. Removal of child from the room to be supervised in the office area by additional staff as a last resort.

5. Parent conference for repeated unacceptable behavior.

Clothing
The School uniform is required for the Enrichment Class.

Payment of Fees
Bills are sent every two weeks with payment due within 15 days. Fees may be paid at the Parish Administration Office, placed in the payment drop box located in the Latchkey office or mailed. You must pay for all scheduled days regardless of attendance.
